Spectators that overfilled the Grand Hall of The National Theatre from Bucharest were impressed by a glamorous fashion show in which the make-up and hairstyling trends of 2008 were displayed. The Gala lasted an entire day (27 November 2007) and included various workshops with demonstrations of haircutting and make-up, but also styling competitions with numerous trophies. read more and see images
Though it seems that Vlad The Impaler never used it as his usual home, the myth of the vampire-king made Bran the tourist attraction with most foreigners in Romania. The Voronet Monastery is the most famous buildings of Stephan The Great, a monument included on the list of UNESCO's world heritage. Its frescos speak of subtle esoteric knowledge held by medieval theologians of Moldavia and also of the skills of anonymous painters.
Voronet is situated 5 km to Gura Humorului, in the county of Suceava. Starting 1991 the monastic life was resumed (after centuries) alongside with the now traditional tourist destination. The building was erected in 1488 in just three months and three weeks at the advice gave to the king by the legendary monk Daniel. Bucharest's 4th District City Hall has organized at City Mall a Christmas carol festival at which took part 1000 singers from kinder gardens allover Bucharest with their teachers. Children were dressed in folkloric costumes or theme costumes and sang in front of Santa Clause traditional songs for this time of the year. They were all repaid with gifts by the mayor of the 4th District, Adrian Inimaroiu. Especially for December, City Mall, from Serban Voda Bvd has built at the second store a Fairy Castle of 12 m height, with 4 towers in which four teddy bears are rotating and with clocks that give announce the hour just like in medieval castles. This year's premium brands exhibition gathered 200 names in the exclusivistic industry. Fashion, jewelry and cars had their own special evenings, marked by spectacular events. Jewelry designer Oana Mizil will display a necklace worth 1.6 million euros, while precious stones expert Oana Ceciu will present a diamond that's estimated for over 150.000 euros.The 2007 edition, held in December, also aimed to be a charity edition by the association of Princess Margareta's Foundation who is to be the patron of an auction aimed to support talented young people. read more and see images
On certain occasions, such as the national day of Romania, The House of The People, or The Parliament Palace built by the communist dictator, Nicolae Ceausescu in the capital Bucharest is fully opened to the public and cameras. Usually, tours for tourists exclude the greater rooms of the building as various conferences take place there (corporate and political events), including the meetings of the Romanian Parliament. Due to its history, the giant building is largely hated by locals, but the good news is that this cube of marble and concrete looks better on the inside than on the outside, maybe because a great part of the decoration is recent, in the years that followed the anticommunist Revolution from 1989. read more and see images

The report of the Presidential Commission for Communism Study was published in the form of a book after its short form was read by President Basescu in front of the Parliament. There, Basescu had to front a loud opposition from the extremist leader Vadim Tudor and several leaders of PSD (Social Democratic, former Communist Party) who found the report was not telling the truth about Romania's past. But at the book launch, few months later, Basescu was overwhelmed by a sea of supporters. read more and see images
