Balaton Lake is Hungary’s greatest water amusement, but it’s hardly a picturesque place. What the flat landscape of a lake surrounded by scarce vegetation lacks, the locals made up by good organization and hospitality. Many of the villages around the lake are turned into resorts, taking advantage of the patches of sand beach, others provide boats and playground installations and regular ship transportation to various cities on the banks.
